Here at 8 Ball Custom Vintage, we understand your concerns because we're a family-run business built on a love for vintage and a passion for sustainability.
Our Family Story:
Shopping vintage runs through our blood literally my nana was the one who got us into thrifting, followed by my mum Angela whom is a part of 8Ball and naturally myself and sister Keiandra were bitten by the bug. Our family wardrobe still has items from my great grandmother we truly cherish and love the hunt for genuine and amazing quality vintage items. Sewing and making is also a big part of our family history with most of my clothes growing being made by my mum and nana (I am a very lucky girl) Angela actually had her own clothing brand once before in the 80s which was very successful it was only due to myself and sister coming on the scene that she leaned into being a mother and homemaker and contained to sew only for us.....Until we launch 8Ball of course. Angela has always had an amazing eye and skill for sewing I have many memories of throwing curtains over my shoulder and saying make me a dress like this and she would!
This heritage is the foundation of our business. We wouldn't sell anything to you that we wouldn't wear ourselves, or wouldn't be thrilled to see in our loved ones' wardrobes.
Sourcing with Care:
We source our materials to upcycle and vintage pieces with the same meticulousness you'd expect. We partner with many charities in the UK giving a donation which also helps them, and we also take donations from clients like you, send us a message if you'd like to donate. We also keep a keen eye out for hidden gems while exploring thrift markets when travelling, there is a large market In Paris we go to often to source as its the last port before textiles get exported usually to the global south to landfill or incineration and I mean its crazy because we find such beautiful vintage there. All our Vintage and textile are hand picked so we can check the material quality and components as well as legitimacy.
Commitment to Quality and Authenticity:
Every item that makes it onto our online store goes through a rigorous inspection process. We meticulously check for condition, authenticity (if applicable), any potential flaws. We believe in complete transparency, so we have detailed descriptions, high-quality photos from multiple angles, measurements, materials listed, where it was made, clear condition grading system, although you won't see many items described other than "Like New" because we do take such care and are so picky over the quality. ;P
